Re: We should demand a better run forum.

This forum has great response time, one of the best that I have been on.
Generally a pleasure to use.

The down time at night, used to be 11 PM Pacific time, was moved a couple
of hours later, and was, back then, only about 5 minutes duration, so I could
just wait and submit the same thing again 6 minutes later.

If you want to encourage changes, clean up your attitude and
offensive choice of vocabulary, demonstrate that you have
something helpful to share, and then contribute money to
the operation of the forum.

If you do not like that, then please go start your own forum.
If you do a much better job, then maybe you will get over
8000 members (and many more readers).

+1!

I also note that Coolhead is NOT a contributor and thus his comments ring especially hollow!

If mynissanleaf.com looked amazing and had a lot of useful features then I probably would support it. But just to gain a few more basic features on a site using free open source software... I don't think so.

The quote that you attributed to me actually came from someone else...

The useful feature is the high quality of posted material... with some exceptions.

I liked this forum so much I sent them thirty bucks. Doesn't hurt that the info I got here saved me far more than that.

I gotta figure, if you have an idea, "We should demand...", and you can't get anyone to agree with you, then maybe we don't agree. Maybe it's time to find another bright idea.

cwerdna, with regard to PriusChat, it always looked to me like Danny simply enabled every possible feature the software had. I have nothing to back that idea up, though.
And there goes the first capacity bar! At 24,000 mi on 9/9/2013.
Second bar at 30,500 mi on 2/7/2015.

Not sure what you mean... Are you saying that's why there were perf problems eventually cropped up when they were running vBulletin or are you referring to the spam it still gets when running on XenForo?
Stoaty wrote:Much ado about nothing. I don't see a problem worth spending time on.
For the most part, I agree.

About the only things I wished worked better were search and that Google indexed this site better. I'm not sure how much effort the mods/admins have spent on https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or whether or not any of that stuff actually helps.
