Stylebot restyling

Wed Jul 01, 2015 12:56 am

So I couldn't take some of the new layout issues and found that there is a Chrome extension called Stylebotwhich lets you apply custom CSS to a website.

It makes it pretty easy to adjust the look of a website to suit your fancy, so I made some changes to compress vertical space and enhance readability.

Here's the CSS I'm currently using which I'm finding works along with a screenshot of the before and after to really show how much more you can see if anyone else wants to try it or build their own tweaks on top of it.

Code: Select all

#site-header {
    line-height: 70px;
    min-height: 90px;

#headercenterad {
    display: none;

.post {
    margin-bottom: 5px;
    padding: 10px;

.postbody {
    margin-right: 0;

.postprofile {
    float: left;

.signature {
    clear: none;
    margin-left: 230px;
    margin-top: 10px;
    padding-top: 10px;
    width: auto;

blockquote {
    font-size: 1em;
    padding: 5px 5px 5px 10px;

blockquote.uncited {
    padding-top: 25px;

blockquote cite {
    margin-left: 25px;

body, .content {
    font-family: 'Lucida Grande', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;

body, .site-logo, ul.topiclist li, .postprofile, .author > a , .signature {
    color: #000;

li.row.bg2 {
    background-color: #ffffff;

table.upgradebox {
    display: none;

ul.topiclist li {
    background-color: #f0f0f0;

ul.topiclist li.row dl {
    padding: 10px 0;
