Backup Site Forum for MNL Users?

With the site going down regularly, sometimes for more than one day at a time, maybe we should set up a forum (or even just a topic) at another forum site for use during these outages. I would suggest either https://endless-sphere.com/forums/or https://visforvoltage.org/. Endless Sphere is a bigger, much more active EV site, but they have a definite problem with right wing trolls and "Trumpeters." V is for Voltage is much quieter and congenial, but it does have its own occasional outages. Thoughts?

Never knew of the above...

I just had to make do with other social media and I guess more Leaf discussion on FB groups, despite the terrible UI for threading + very buggy scrolling to the right spot for notifications.

Fortunately, I was in Vegas for CES for part of the outage so it's not like I had that much time for MNL anyway.

It kind of bothers me that I spend so much of my online time here now, but OTOH political sites, where I used to also go, have gotten pretty toxic these days...

Sorry just re-read your post, and at first I thought you meant we need to start another forum, but do you mean a place to discuss this forum being down at another forum?

The contact form on all the EV sites links to another 'parent' website that sends an email straight to me. When the forum went down Friday night (in my time zone) I didn't check my email until Saturday night, so it was around 24-30 hours outage this time.

The most recent outage was very likely due to the /tmp folder filling up. The site owner likely just needs to relocate /tmp to a bigger partition or to schedule a nightly reboot using a crontab job. I'm guessing the only action taken to fix the issue was a simple reboot, as that clears /tmp

Is this why it seems there were no posts over the weekend?

It went down Friday afternoon for my time zone. I was still at CES which ended at 4 pm Pacific. The outage happened at least a few hours before 4 pm Pacific.

I'm suggesting we start a forum or topic at another site, for use to discuss Leaf issues when this site is down for longer periods. Out of curiosity, was my email the one that you received? (same user name, Gmail domain.) I'm wondering if anyone else reports when this site is down.

You're kidding, right? We're going to go to another forum to discuss when this forum goes down?
At some point we need to "get a life"! If/when this forum ever disappears...I will simply no longer have anywhere to go to read about trusty old Nissan Leaf.

I'm not talking about discussing the site outages. I'm not talking about going to another forum if this one goes out for a couple of hours. If you think that what I'm proposing is silly, then by all means don't participate in the other topic or forum.
