2013 Nissan Leaf SV, 41k Miles. All 12 bars price, $8000. ( not negotiable)

2016 Nissan Leaf, S, 45k Mike’s, 11 bars, price $10,900 ( maybe be negotiated down a bit but not under $10k.)

Carfax for both shows owners local.

Which is a better deal?

The big question is what battery does the 2016 S have? Most S trim Leafs produced in 2016 had the 24 kWh battery, while a few at the end of the year had 30kWh. If it has the smaller battery, then it is worth quite a bit LESS than the 2013. In any case, check the Kelley Blue Book prices: in most areas you really should not pay more than 6000-7500 for either car. So, I would not recommend buying either at the prices you listed, but if Leafs are rare where you live and you really want to, I'd say the 2013 SV is a better choice.

The fourth digit in the VIN indicates which battery it has. For 2011-2017, an A in the 4th place means it has a 24 kWh pack. B means it has a 30 kWh pack.

If both those cars are 24 kWh, something to consider is that the SV has the more energy efficient heat pump heating system.

What kind of controls and features do you like? The SV has a touch-screen (likely with navigation) and smaller buttons. The S uses large knobs and no touchscreen (which I actually prefer, personally).
