It sounds like their issue is more of a security concern. From the previously mentioned thread

We are working on a mobile friendly theme, but that is still a ways off.
That said, thousands of other sites use it anyway, so it's frustrating that we can't use it here.
I can say for sure that I find it very hard to keep up with MNL and have been a lot less active here as a result of it being so painful to use on my phone so if MNL is not going to use tapatalk, I hope that mobile theme comes along soon!
There are other forums (e.g. AndroidForum) that have disabled tapatalk (after initially offering it), and lengthy threads appear there from people who are upset about that and talking of leaving the forum.
On the other hand, there are forums like PriusChat.com that have re-enabled tapatalk, and there are even some Leaf threads there...
It seems that the debate goes on as to whether taptalk is "safe" or not. It looks like many of the vulnerabilities were reported years ago and presumably fixed since then, but I can see that it might be difficult to figure out just how safe the latest version really is and it would appear that the tapatalk folks aren't helping matters (instead relying on the fact that thousands of other sites do still use it, which still does not guarantee that it is safe).

Clearly it's easiest to "just say no" but I would prefer that the MNL admins would work with the tapatalk folks to find out if their specific concerns have been addressed or not. Or finish up that mobile theme.
