Re: Mobile version of the forum

The mobile link in the first post is better no doubt, but where is the link to 'New posts' and 'Your posts' ?. Without those two it is very difficult to catch up on the discussions day to day.

Also is there a reason why this forum is not supporting a mobile app ?

thanks

If you click on the little magnifying glass, the drop down includes all the various views. As far as supporting an app, it's been asked for many times, but management has concerns (mostly security, I think) and has chosen not to do it.

While this isn't an app, it should help the usability of the forum.

Let me know your thoughts on it.
If it seems to work we can put in auto-device detection to load the mobile skin automatically on mobile devices.

This style=3 in my opinion is poor. At best a 2.5 on a scale of 1 to 10.
The regular Web version is tolerably OK on a Note 3.

I can see why some want a mobile version, but style=3 isn't even close to good. Is just missing too many things.
That is the problem with many of even the quasi adequate mobile versions. They just lose too much.
And don't make the horrible mistake that some news sites have made of preventing a mobile user from even getting to the full site.
Yes you can check the request desktop block in settings and that works on many mobile sites.
But on some that does not work and there is NO way to get the full site except at a desktop or notebook computer.
Doing that would be a huge mistake :!:
