I have moved your post to this existing topic. If it were me I would have tried to get a photo of the dash while the car was on, but Carvana might not respond. Find out where, climate-wise, it came from, to help manage expectations. These services tend to buy lease returns from mainly hotter climates...
San Francisco area was the location of the first owner. Oddly, I found out today the car is now in AZ. Carvana charges between 0 and $499 shipping and this one has free shipping, WTF. There are many 2016s from the San Francisco area right now. About 30-40% are from hot climates.

I asked today for the capacity bar information but didn't seriously expect a response. If the battery is poor and I reject the car, it's mostly their loss, but it has been an ordeal for me. I am guessing they adjust the price based on lost bars since the price varies quite a bit for the apparently same car. So I tried to go for the higher price car, everything else being equal. I did also notice they will drop the price if the listing has been there awhile though.

They seem to go more by options and mileage than capacity, oddly. They likely just don't understand the latter. As for being from the SF area: there are, IIRC, some hot micro-climates in that region...

Is it a 30kwh or 24kwh 2016?
Even at 22k miles a 30kwh 2016 could be already dropping bars if from a hot region.

It's a 24KWH. Fremont, CA average high for today is 82F, same as here on Long Island.

Do we really know if the Lizard vs Canary battery does much better in a mild climate though?

My 2014 lizard battery is kicking ass at 12 bars.
Also try ebay, since you can communicate with the actual vehicle owner.
Even the most seemingly clueless leaf owner can tell you more about their car than a Internet car flip rep.

For example had my leaf been on carvana I would not have been able to find out that it had a 2014 battery with 12 bars and confirm absolutely for sure that it has chademo before I bought it.
Before I ever saw the car I was about 99% certain it was going to be perfect.

Yes. Lizard Pack vs Wolf Pack (4/2013-2014) though is much, much closer in a mild climate.

I requested a pic of the dash and it shows 12 bars :D . The outside temperature in AZ was 99F when they took the pic. Glad to see the SOC was 39%.

If the BMS wasn't reset then you know the battery has at least 85% capacity left. Probably closer to 87%.

I don't think Carvana would do that. It would be a bit of a conspiracy for them to be doing that. They'll be sorry if they are doing that and I catch them :x . I'll be sure to check the capacity every way I can before the 7 day return period is up.

Does the reset change the SOH number? How long does it take for the SOH to recalculate?
