Re: ChargePoint infrastructure thread

Two dual-standard ChargePoint DC FC stations at the below aren't on Plugshare yet.

CHEVRON STATION 1793 #1 and #2
873 Blossom Hill Rd
San Jose, CA

Pricing is pretty high at 35 cents/kWh + 10 cents/minute.

'22 Niro EV
'19 Bolt Premier (bought back by GM)
'13 Leaf SV w/premium (former)
'13 Leaf SV w/QC + LED & premium (lease over)

Re: ChargePoint infrastructure thread

I came across https://www.plugshare.com/location/87564. Looks like some L2 ChargePoint stations have been removed there.

They were CT-2x00 series and we ran into supposedly not being able to get parts for them at my work. So, our few CT-2000/2100 series units were replaced with CT-4000 series.

I've charged in that area before (https://www.greencarreports.com/news/10 ... tore-in-ca), specifically at Target mainly. The Target stations (sometimes in disrepair) were 2 hours free then charged $ after that. The ones off to the side were only 1 hour free then cost $ afterward.

Perhaps the site owner was tired of not collecting much $ and paying for ChargePoint subscription fees and repairs? And yes, some Volta stations had been installed there over the years. I haven't been up there for awhile to see the situation now.

Re: ChargePoint infrastructure thread

I've seen some pics on Plugshare and also encountered one myself w/a screen up like at https://www.plugshare.com/location/13778 saying that support for the station's 3G modem will end Dec 2021, that the station will be removed from the Chargepoint network, etc.

Don't be surprised if ChargePoint public or workplace stations hit this and have impaired or no useful functionality...

Re: ChargePoint infrastructure thread

I saw a message about a modem upgrade needed at our local private ChargePoint stations at work. The odd thing is....they are almost brand new since both stations were getting flaky and were replaced. Is it possible that the entire outside piece of equipment was replaced but the cellular modem was not? Very odd.

I'd hate to lose the connection since they are often full and I like to check on availability and how much charge I've received when plugged in from my desk at work.

Re: ChargePoint infrastructure thread

I asked about a CP supposed site in McFarland, CA that wasn't on Plugshare yet (https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/insta ... ost-688466) and it seems today, a Bolt driver may have added it. ABRP had been suggesting it...

W00t! If it remains free, I might be using it if my So Cal Niro EV lease goes through I have to drive it up to the Bay Area.

I used both DC FCs at that site over the weekend. I got an unexpected stop and error shown on the charger at 48% SoC. I restarted it and it continued w/o incident. I saw a max of 60 kW there on my Niro EV. Love the free juice.

Both DC FCs were dual standard "62.5 kW" units.
