Hi folks, I’ll be getting my gen 2 Leaf soon, and just wondering if I could use this socket at work to charge my Leaf with. I know the Leaf is type two, but this socket looks like a type one but I’m not an expert at all in these things. There are EV accessory companies who sell type one to type two charging cables so though it was a quicker charging option. Below are the links to the socket and the connector cable I was talking about. :)

Socket: https://www.cef.co.uk/catalogue/products/477362-32a-3p-n-e-400v-wall-mounted-socket-ip67

Charging cable: https://evconnectors.com/32-Amp-Car-Charging-Plug-and-Lead-For-The-Nissan-Leaf

If these aren’t compatible, I can just use the bog standard 13amp socket until my company catches up and installs dedicated EV charging ports. 🙂

This is primarily a North American Leaf forum, but there are a few Europeans here who may be able to help. My only semi-informed guess is "no" because the pin holes in the switchbox don't match the non-plug end of the charging cable...it looks to me as though the wrong end of the charging cable "matches" the box.

I'm not in the UK, but I believe that the outlet you link to isn't type 1. It appears to be a 3-phase general purpose outlet.

To use that outlet, you'd need a "universal" (or at least "flexible") EVSE, like this one:

Note the warning: "adapters sold separately". You'd also need the appropriate adapter lead.

It seems an expensive way to make use of free electricity.

Hi all, reviving this thread - I've noticed my work place has a Mennekes d-57399 socket rated to 63A! I would love to use this to charge my 2013 Leaf just wondering if there's a charging cable out there (mennekes d-57399 to ChaDemo) type of setup

The Mennekes receptacle that the OP referenced is 3 phase AC, CHADEMO is DC. So, it's highly unlikely that anything "off the shelf" exists to rectify that AC source into CHADEMO.
