Electrical infrastructure is possibly more susceptible than gasoline..... we be next!
It's crazy how vulnerable the energy infrastructure really appears to be. imagine if we were engaged in an actual war and it's not just some random hackers testing to see how vulnerable it is (assuming that's what happened over the weekend, but I don't know).
Ummm, don't think they were doing just https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penetration_test. Per many sources like https://www.cnet.com/news/fbi-says-darkside-hacking-group-responsible-for-pipeline-cyberattack/, it was ransomware.

Most every place in my town ran out of gas by 9pm, the same Kroger station I posted a picture of back in 2016 in this topic, didn't even make it to closing time this time. :?
The station that lasted the longest was Costco before they ran out.

The panic buying is causing a real shortage in the underground tanks.

Last night i drove by Costco and the parking lot was backed up and twisted around as hundreds of cars were lined up at the gas pumps. It's like the '70s again with lines at the pump.

There is a temporary shortage because Colonial shut down the pipeline for a few days to assess the situation, but they are going to resume soon. It will take a bit of time for the trucks to get around to all the stations to refill the tanks.

Colonial Pipeline announced earlier that it planned to have services substantially restored by the end of the week.

This is one reason I'd be very reluctant to purchase a new ICE vehicle without at least a decent-sized battery(PHEV), I like to have options. No electricity, use gas, no gas, use electricity :)

I'm told this is old but it amazes me the things people do when they think a shortage is coming.

I hate getting gas on my hands, can't believe she wasn't covered in the stench!

When I was a kid I liked the smell of raw gas. I was the Pit Crew for my father's Volvo drag car, and I loved the smell of burning gas mixed with Nitro in the air at the drag strips. By the time I hit 25, though, I hated that smell. Raw, burned, any kind of gas or diesel smell makes me sick.

...
Gasoline Outages by state, percent of all stations without gasoline:
AL 7%
WASH DC 10%
FL 11%
GA 43%
KY 2%
MD 11%
MS 5%
NC 65%
SC 43%
TN 16%
VA 44%
WV 4%

Where is GasBuddyGuy getting the numbers? TN seems low-balled since the shortage seems to be affecting the whole state?

I can only guess it's from crowdsourced data since you can report and confirm gas prices with them. I used to sometimes do that, long ago.

On this note, I did watch the ep of My Strange Addiction featuring this person a few years ago.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meNbh90DZJ0

Not surprisingly, as they mention, she was having a lot of health problems from her addiction.

EV haters complain about waiting +30 minutes for the EV to fast charge, but now they have to wait Hour(s) to get gas if it doesn't run out, oh the irony.

I too remember gasoline having a "sweeter" smell when I was a kid. Maybe it was the Lead? I kinda' think it was because when I was flying in the 80's and 90's, the aviation gas had some of that sweet smell (100 Octane, 'low Lead').
