I’ll pile on here since everybody seems to be updating here. I’m at 9yrs, 2mo. I just charged to 100% for the first time in months. I’m still on the original traction and lead acid batteries.
56,819 mi, 8-bars, 40.41 AHr, 61% SOH, 40.18 Hx, 4.072 V avg, 96.0% SOC on LeafSpy.
I drove 50mi today to LBW, some low speed highway but mostly in town at 35-40 mph. I’m now on the 3rd set of tires (for winter) and windshield wipers but very little other maintenance except wiper fluid and one alignment. Nothing with brakes or fluids. Since this is entirely in-town, I’m not worried about getting stranded since I’m rarely more than a 5mi walking distance from home.
I trickle charge the original PbA battery weekly and hope to get another few years out of it. This has been amazing, I’ve never gotten more than 7 yrs on a battery.
Still an amazing LEAF (Leading Environmentally Friendly Family car) and doing exactly what it was designed for. No, it’s not a long-range cruiser but it’s still solid. Yes, I wish it was a 350mi EV with free supercharging, but it’s still great.
Sorry, I haven’t posted in years, and lost my original “reddy” login I’d, but life happens. I don’t really have much to contribute anymore and I probably won’t check or post again until 2026, if I still have the car.
