On the surface, from my observations it appears they were a startup that was hoping to get bought out.
More like someone with a great idea, but without the skills or knowledge to even create a prototype.

Yep. Basically, my guess is what I said in the 3rd to last paragraph of https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php? ... er#p576733.

Fenix Power: A pipe dream, can't even spell Phoenix right

Thu Feb 20, 2020 7:40 pm

Has anyone been able to verify the rumors of eviction?

Sincere people can be wrong--sincerely wrong, and without the knowledge, skills and abilities to deliver on the advertised product.

It always smelled of a scam to me, but i'm a technologist, and skeptical when people try to use BS and blather to sell something.

Look up Fenix at the URL I mentioned at https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=579289#p579289 to see for yourself.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1846649 ... 2656939844 is Mr. Bysinger's comment about vacating the space.

In my experience, the majority of start-ups begin with wild hopes and possibly dreams. That is probably why the vast majority fail fairly quickly. While this could be 'a scam' I'd be more inclined to think it was just a case of trying something that had slim odds of success and not some sort of con game to separate naive investor/speculators from their money.

Renting a space and never moving into it leans more towards it being a scam.
Before now I thought they were just incompetent.
It's always been my belief they wanted to be one of those startups that got bought out for a bunch of money and then it can fail when the next guy can't make it happen.

Yeah you nailed it.
I bet I have built more batteries than they have.

IMHO, taking deposits and saying how the price will increase as more people sign up, yet still not having an inkling of how to make the product, leans more towards it being a scam.

Well, they had a good idea but the window is closing fast. In 11 days, I will post a blog about a local business doing 40 kwh upgrades to Gen 1 LEAFs. They are now popping up everywhere. This company will likely draw in most of Fenix's business in WA/OR which was likely a major market for them.
2011 SL; 44,598 mi, 87% SOH. 2013 S; 44,840 mi, 91% SOH. 2016 S30; 29,413 mi, 99% SOH. 2018 S; 25,185 mi, SOH 92.23%. 2019 S Plus; 11,333.1 mi, 93.73% SOH

As I noted early on, you have to have a thing before you worry about fancy ways of selling and marketing the thing. As of yet there is no Fenix thing to be found. It seems unlikely now that there ever will be.
I noticed you're still working with polymers.

Anytime someone asks you for $$$ to save a lot of $$$ things won't end well.... Like the Nigerian Prince that needs your bank account #.
