Internet Crime Complaint Center(IC3)

Fenix Power Inc., purports to be a start-up Technology company, to supply NISSAN LEAF Electric car owners with Certified Pre-Owned(CPO) 24 kWh battery packs from supplier bigbattery.com, 9667 Owensmouth Ave. Chatsworth, CA 91311, (818) 280-3091 Sales@BigBattery.Com. The problem is, they originally enticed NISSAN LEAF owners that they are building a new type of “Modular” Battery that can be installed in LEAF cars, that after losing Capacity, can be restored by replacing individual modules or cells (For a small Monthly Subscription price) without having to drop the whole pack from the car, thus giving owners always a battery with 100% Capacity, so owners will never loose any driving range. The problem is their gimmick or fraud never came to fruition, and instead enticed Nissan LEAF owners to buy from them CPO 24 kWh battery packs which they would be a 3rd party to owners and local installers, and have the battery packs shipped and installed. This was Fenix Power’s “Interim Solution” to “help” their victims to get the driving range back and to hold them over, until their “Modular” Battery solution came to market. The problem is people paid them an initial deposit of $135-$750 dollars to “save their line in place” until their “Modular” Battery product came to market and then another $2,499 to $3,499 to purchase Certified Pre-Owned(CPO) battery packs which would be installed. The problem is, people who paid having been waiting over 1 year now with no product, no contact from Owners John Bysinger, Bill Bysinger and Sarah Love Bysinger. (See their Customer Forum full of complaints at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/FenixPowerCoForum/.

Fenix Power and their owners need to be investigated for Internet Fraud.

Looks like they aren't even moderating their customer forum. Two spammer posts have been made and not taken down.

If it isn't too late to offer an editing suggestion: the first sentence should read "They originally enticed Nissan Leaf owners with the prospect of providing them with a new type of modular battery, with replaceable modules, that can be upgraded with new modules as needed, without removal from the car. This would provide Leaf drivers who purchased it with virtually 100% battery capacity, indefinitely."

Still nothing.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/FenixPo ... 2622174844 suggested that there might be an update the Tuesday that just passed but it looks like there was none.

Even if there were, I wouldn't be surprised if it's another long-winded reply and if it had dates, they'd be missed again.

I gave them a deposit too, but am not inclined to think "fraud". I am curious, what makes something "fraud" or "scam" versus a start-up company that just plain doesn't succeed? Is it the presence or absence of a disclaimer like one sees on Kickstarter?

Lies, deception, intent.

Do you care ?
Probably not, because you will never get a penny back since Fenix is broke and any pennies pulled out of the ground go to legal.

Do you care ?
Perhaps, if you are vindictive and want to make the Fenix guy's life a misery that possibly includes jail-time if he violated federal commerce laws.

I've funded a few kickstarters, and what none of the legitimate ones do is constantly make excuses. I also have compulsive gamblers in my family, and they ALWAYS say that they'll pay me back later (back when I cared). Much easier to just write off the losses and vow never to lend to them again. The liars know to never ask again either.

From https://www.facebook.com/groups/FenixPowerCoForum/, it seems they've gone silent again and there's still no word of a single successful install.

Meanwhile, https://fenix.systems/ continues to say:
Buy your CPO battery today!

The wait is over, battery installs are on their way!
Certified-Pre-Owned 24 kWh available.
Installations starting in July!
