It seems to me that EJ used a dual capability (CCS/Chademo) charging station, when he should have used one with only CCS. His move is an inconvenience to EVs with Chademo capability. Yes, there is another station nearby, but it is still an inconvenience.
I do not know why EJ used that station. It could be due to ignorance, he did not realize that the station had 2 plugs, he realized what happened but was too lazy to move his car, etc. However, I was in a similar situation back in Spring, where all EvGo stations were open, but I inadvertently parked my car in what seemed to be the correct spot for an CCS/Chademo charging station at the mall. I actually ended up parking by the EVGo L2 charging station, which was a bit off to the side. I was in my car while it charged, but did not realize what was happening until an older Leaf pulled up by the adjacent CCS/Chademo charging station, plugged in, then the driver asked me if I was using the L2 station. I said no, that I was using the quick charge station, like him. He did not say anything else, then went into the mall. A few minutes later, I ended my charging session, wondering why he asked me about the L2. After driving away, it dawned on me that I was parked in the spot meant for the L2 station, and the other driver probably wanted to use the L2 station, which I was blocking. I wish he would have told me that he was interested in using the L2. I would have no problem admitting my fault and moving my car over.
