How hard would it be to make this a default setting that you change only when needed, instead of every time you want less than 100%? You'd only need to go into the menu to change the default.
Yes, especially given the occasional hiccup that requires replugging the charging cable. I would probably forget to reset the limit if its duration were only one charging session.

First version is up and working. I had to make some sacrifices in the activation, turns out the steering wheel buttons aren't on the EV-can. So only available info is the HVAC system. I settled on this precondition, recirculation ON and fanspeed at max (7). I chose this combo since it's so unlikely that anyone would ever set it like this. Bonus picture of figuring out the fanspeed on the bus https://i.imgur.com/NISNw0F.png

Here v1.0 in action.

Next step is to add longer delays (was tricky to set correctly with 1s delay), charge options all the way down to 50%, and make the dash charge% represent which selection you finally landed on (since it can be hard with only the capacity bars).

Thoughts?

That would be awesome.

Question; I toggle defrost on and manually adjust to max fan speed all the time. Usually run it 20 seconds to a minute or whatever it takes then turn off and close vent. Closed vent is my normal operation. I am thinking this would not change setting?

When defrost is ON it's not possible to enter this mode, so you're good!

I actually went and made a v1.1
- Increased delay between selections from 1sec to 2sec
- SOC display now shows what option is selected
- Added more options, 50, 58, 66, 75, 83, 92, 100 %

In this example, I set the max charge to 83%

I think this version would be good enough for the most?

Thank you :) I made the code open source so anyone can suggest improvements or make their own based on it.

I don't see why not, atleast on 40kWh models, only unsure about the 62kWh

It isn't very likely that I'll buy my 2018 off lease, but if I do I'll probably install it. What is involved in doing that?

Forgive my ignorance but I’m not following the keystrokes to make this happen.

What buttons are you pushing.

In what order. Etc.

Thanks.
