DIY to bleed the brake fluid?

I've searched but I could not find one. Is there anything special I need to do to flush the brake fluid?

I know it may not be necessary at this point, but I have some time on my hands...

A bleeder kit, with the correct wrench, bleeding tubes and a collection reservoir, are very helpful if not absolutely necessary.
