Thanks for your post and look forward to your dealership visit update. Your battery held up well compared to our 2016 Leaf SL that lost the 4th bar November 2019 5 weeks after we bought it. Mileage was 24,000 when the 4th bar was lost. Our car had just come off lease and I have no history other than it had lived in the St Louis MISSOURI area.
Yes, vehicle had BMS update in August 2018 prior to my purchase. Plus, I had annual EV Battery Usage Report done at dealership November 2019 where they also applied the "recall - P9312 - leaf battery plate NTB19055"
You should get a 40 per release from Nissan back in Jan 2020. We took our 2016 SV in 30 Dec 2019 and got the car back 12 Feb 2020. We bought the off lease Leaf 15 Oct 2019 showing 9 bars with the Nissan dealership stating we would be getting a new battery pack soon. It was showing 21,600 miles. It failed 5 weeks later at 24,000 miles. For our car this was the first replacement. 8 months/10K miles later State Of Health (SOH) is down by 4%.bakermel1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 12:46 pmHas anyone had a second battery replacement from Nissan on the 2016 Leaf? My 2016 dropped it’s forth battery bar last week. This is on a replacement battery that was installed in 2018. I’m in Phoenix so the heat is killing the batteries, currently at 69,500 miles. The dealership ordered a replacement battery. I am hoping to get the larger 40 kWh in a week or two.
Dealership checked out battery and confirmed battery due for replacement under warranty. Dealership has no ETA on when Nissan sends out my replacement battery.
That is good news your claim has been validated. I was told by the shop service writer it was the division office feet dragging that dragged out getting a new battery ordered in my case but a call to the National Rep got things back on tract fast. Keep us posted. Maybe you will get fast service. The Nissan dealership had never replaced a battery before mine.
After losing the fourth bar, what kind of tests does the dealership on the battery to check if it is eligible to be replaced or not? Thanks.GaleHawkins wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 9:32 pmThat is good news your claim has been validated. The dealership first checked it out and said it looks like it's eligible. Perhaps they ran the Annual EV Battery Usage report. BTW I had that run in November 2019.we performed the battery usage report, you are eligible for a battery replacement.
I assume the second snippet is result from certified Leaf technician.Good news! After our diagnostic, we did not find anything else wrong with the vehicle that caused the battery to fail. We sent in our findings with Nissan and the battery has been approved to be replaced under warranty.
