Ok, I've tried everything I can think of. Anybody else running into this?

I really want the RSS feeds to work, so that I can listen to the synthetic voice as it attempts to read me the news. But everytime I log into Carwings, and attempt to add an RSS feed address, it simply tells me the address isn't correct.

First of all, the "Add" button never stops being greyed out. But if I click on the "Use Predefined Title" button, I can at least get the following error message to appear:

"Invalid URL. Enter an RSS feed."

I've tried Google, BBC, Digg RSS feeds, and all give the same response. Carwings needs a better UI.

Here are examples of RSS feeds that I have in my system:

http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss

http://www.10news.com/news/topstory.rss

http://rss.weather.com/weather/rss/local/92124?cm_ven=LWO&cm_cat=rss&par=LWO_rss#

The URL in your screenshot doesn't look like mine. Try one of mine and see what you get...

Try http://www.mynissanleaf.com/rss.php

It often bugs me when sites give an RSS link. Sometimes, as in this forum, the RSS button actually goes to the feed, which I consider the right behavior. If you visit it in a browser it looks funny, but give it to an RSS reader and it's fine. Many sites take you instead to another html page that talks about the RSS feed and then, buried somewhere inside, is the actual link to the feed. Some of them bury the link even deeper.

Interesting.

The site is clearly doing some sort of external validation of the RSS feed that is extremely slow.

But it still rejects your CNN feed for me. It does however allow the Weather channel and the 10 local news.

I agree, most sites abuse RSS, but the parser in Carwings is apparently really dumb, and easily confounded.

I see the error URL starts with "feed://" but the examples given by others start with the "http://" prefix.

Which is correct, or expected by the RSS Setup ("CARWINGS"?) in the LEAF?
