It seems like using the USB interface locks out the iPod controls. Yes, on my iPhone I can hit the home button to run other apps, but not the iPod app or my own music app FlickTunes. It locks out access to the music library while plugged in... :x

Any way around this?

When you plug an i-device into the usb port, you transfer control from the i-device to the vehicle. You access your music from the vehicles audio controls. It is looking for music in the default device location, not an app (ie: FlickTunes). Two things that you can try - Bluetooth streaming audio setting your device to FlickTunes (works for me with Pandora in another Nissan with Bluetooth streaming audio). If that doesn't work, you can always use the headphone out jack from your device and plug in to the auxiliary input jack. Then your car's audio system is seen as extension speakers for your device and you control your selections from your device.

Good luck! :)
