For reference, this is the issue on '13 to '15 S trims: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/MC-10091563-2280.pdf. Off the top of my head, I don't know if this has been revised significantly.

A well-known dealer tech in the Pacific NW during the height of this said they had some brand new Leaf S come off the truck w/this problem.

brainy19: What's your location? (You can update your signature to show this) What are the ambient temps? How many miles on the LeafS? Have you owned it since new? Was the car ever in an accident?

If the AC "recall" was done, there might be a printout of the service in the owner's manual. Nissan computer network should also show if the recall was done.

Nissan also has a recall lookup website, not sure if the AC recall would be included in that database though:

https://www.nissanusa.com/recalls-vin/#/#/Home

You just need to type in your VIN

Ah, some fair points. I will look up the needed details when I have time. Thank you all for your help so far!

BTW, I live in Southern California. Ambient temperature has been below 80degF lately.

S trim has no nav system, no TCU, has knobs for the HVAC and radio and has matte finish plastics. Car in https://insideevs.com/news/317231/real-world-test-2013-nissan-leaf-range-vs-2012-nissan-leaf-range-w-video/ is an S trim. '15 S got cruise control that '13 and '14 S didn't have.

SV and SL have piano black shiny plastics, TCU (with cellular radio), nav system and no knobs for either. '15 S has only black cloth interior. '15 SV and SL would have a choice of light grey or black cloth interior. '15 SL would have black leather interior.

The campaign and TSB (NTB16-050 at https://testing-public.carmd.com/Tsb/Download/116669/1vb31) only apply to '13 to '15 S trims.

Ok, so I used the link to check my VIN for the recall and no recalls relating to the air conditioner applies to me.
Pretty sure my car is a S trim, since I don't have navigation features in the car. MY car does have cruise control and knobs for the radio and HVAC.

Under the hood, I saw a model # for HFC134a for the A/C, not sure if that helps tho.

Recalls are generally for safety defects and FMVSS non-conformance, which wouldn’t include AC issues.

I’m away from a computer right now but suggest you look at the PDFs I pointed to. You may be able to get it covered for free.
