I just changed my cabin air filter. When I removed the the glovebox, I ended up with a part on the carpet, 685S3 3NF0A. I don't know where it goes! Is it needed? Help!

Is it possible that this part was waiting to be discovered because my car was serviced after a rodent built a nest inside my heater/AC fan a while ago?
 
Google says that it's the speaker for the pedestrian warning system. It may have been removed by a previous owner, or left out when the rodent damage was fixed.
