Not sure about the last laugh. It may be cheaper for Nissan to replace the packs or stiff those customers in AZ rather than add a TMS to every Leaf. (Hopefully replace the packs). It's just a different strategy. Nissan did was willing to compromise life in order to lower the initial price point; GM was willing to compromise the price point in order to increase battery life. At the moment it's looking like Nissan may have made the worse bet but the game isn't over. (FYI I think the DOE thought Nissan's approach might be better because it would allow the manufacturer to put more EVs on the road sooner).

Yes, they are at a 14% loss right now. They will lose it soon. One other driver that I tested was at 14%, and the next day he lost the first bar.

I loss the 12th bar today going home from work.

Sorry to hear that even you expected this, we already know that it not matter much bat please share her you park your car day and night and describe condition. I never thought of running AC in my garage but I did that already and no summer yet

I have covered open parking M-F at work. Rest of the time at home in a closed garage with an ICE car.

That makes 13 reported on the forum, plus another 4 by word of mouth for a total of 17. Looks like Nissan spoke a bit hastily about this being a very isolated problem... unless, of course, they mean pretty much isolated to Phoenix. :x

You need to use only the number of cars in the phoenix area or your statistic is essentially meaningless in this context. And there are likely more in Phoenix than 17 since not everyone is on this board and reporting...

Actually, we are talking about 17 cars out of a population of perhaps 500 cars (just guessing, don't know exact number) in Phoenix (3%). Also, note that the reports have all been over a period of about 6 weeks. There is every indication that more will be reported in Phoenix over the next several months. Also, for every one that is reported there are probably several more that have lost a capacity bar, but the owner doesn't know or doesn't post on this forum. You seem to be purposely ignoring that the problem has only been observed in very hot climates. You can't use the thousands of cars in cooler environments in the denominator, since no one ever said those cars were having a problem.

17 cars out of forum reports from Phoenix is a huge number.. right now I would be interested in hearing from other Phoenix owners with NO degradation.
