Can LeafSpy set target % (or how long) to charge Leaf S?

Mon Jun 11, 2018 6:13 am

Sorry if this has been asked before.

I'm thinking of getting LeafSpy and an ELM327 connection. I'm curious if LeafSpy (basic or Pro) can be used to control what percent my 2015 Leaf "S" battery is charged to, such as discontinue charge at 80% (or 90% or some other SOC).

Or can it be used to control how long the charger goes before stopping?

How about being able to stop charging remotely, similar to what I can do with the ChargePoint App on my Android smart-phone?

My understanding is that my 2015 Leaf S doesn't have CarWings / NissanConnect which might provide the equivalent of these capabilities.

The "S" model does have a timer capability, but I've found it to be a kludge to use. But maybe that is operator error on my part?
2015 Leaf S. Bought 2 year lease turn-in with 14,500 miles. Drive about 14k miles/year. Most charging from 'free juice' at nearby ChargePoint or Nissan or other free L2 public chargers within walking distance. ICE is rarely driven pickup truck.

I'm afraid the answer to all of the above is "no." There is no factory setting to change charging limits or stop charging remotely, so LeafSpy can't modify them.
