Absolutely, as I said before, I can't wait for about another 3 years when I think that EV's will be the price/range combination to suit my needs perfectly.

I read on the Internet some and was able to figure with great confidence that an older leaf with a good battery should work for me.

Trying to go that far at that speed is pushing it. In winter I don't expect for you to be able to make it back with out charging.

LMAO......
EV's are no good for most - FACT.
Because if they were it would take up a hell of alot more than 3.5% of the market share in 10 years.
I made a bad purchase and I own it but it doesn't change the fact that EV's are still shit for most people (range, purchase price and so on) and will be for another 10 years, I'm just one of the only EV owners in here that will admit it.
Let's be honest, where's the threads in here about saving the earth. Most EV owners did not purchase with that as their first reason to go electric.
If gas was 50 cents a gallon, I would put my MAGA hat on, drop the top and drive off in my nice 3 series Beamer for the same price as my fancied up golf cart.... Let's get real here people!

You tree huggers keep sitting on your moral high horse.....hey you never know, one day they'll make an EV version of one of those too and then you can ride off into that utopian sunset together....
There, how is that for a little more ad hominem for you, smart guy!
About as expected. You slew an army of straw men with this thread, but I'm not sure you shed much light. Owners here are not in the dark regarding the capabilities or applicability of EVs. There's no group conspiracy where we swore an oath to never "admit" negatives. Stop tilting at windmills; I hear they cause cancer.
I noticed you're still working with polymers.

Here in Canada, my Leaf is set to metrics.
So I did some tests in the last week and all are based on approx 75 km runs one way to work. In an earlier post many of you responded to me with wind resistance stats at different speeds and about slowing down on the highway and I will get much better results and to that I say........NOPE, not that much better!
So after many runs at 120kph or 75mph my computer shows an average of approx 18.5 kw/100kms or about 5.4 kms per kw.
Driving at 105kph or 65mph my computer shows an average of approx 17.2kw/100kms or about 5.81 kms per kw.
The difference is .41 kms per kw x a safe usable 37 kw = A lousy 15.1 kms or just about 10 miles better.
So to this I say...... ,the stats that Nissan or maybe all EV vehicles give are really never designed for commuters and highway driving.
Unless you do each speed AT LEAST 10 times (and that barely qualifies) you have nothing. Too many variables. route is the only one you have covered.
2011 SL; 44,598 miles. 2013 S; 44,840 miles.2016 S30 deceased. 29,413 miles. 2018 S40; 15,000 miles, 478 GIDs, 37.0 kwh 109.81 Ahr , SOH 94.61, Hx 120.15
