I am new to the forum, and wanted to say that it is a great source of knowledge! I happen to be also picky about the sound
I'm the happy owner of the Nissan Leaf 2018 with the BOSE system, here in Europe. I would like to start the modification by adding a subwoofer - e.g. something like https: //www.alpine.d...gleView/SWE-815. It is to be small.
To minimize rework, you can plug it in instead of the original sub level bose after Hi Level. Simultaneously I would like to change the tweeters and woofers (I want to connect them to the current BOSE boost - 2 ohms from here). It's not a full Bosectomy at this stage
Any recommendations regarding 2 Ohm speakers? Focal K2 power are a bit too expensive Will 3 Ohms be a lot quieter? If it will still be 70% SPL of what now is no problem. I have found so far:
https: //www.internet...5-300w-schwarz/ (2.5 Ohm) and
https: //www.amazon.d...m/dp/B01INGYCZG (2 Ohm)
Installation as you see is " mid budget" and "fairly easy" - without ripping half of the car off. I was considering options with an 8-channel amp / dsp(Alpine PDP ) and "normal" 4-Ohm speakers, but I'm not ready for it. I assume that the Bose amplifier has time correction set on all channels. I will will have to survive without additional EQ. The subwoofer channel plays down to at least 30 Hz - the factory sub manages to give some output at this frequency - the phase and gain control will be enough for me. I would like to improve mainly the dynamics and transparency of the entire system.
Looking forward to your advice
