Are the OEMs 6-3/4"?
Asking because I want to get the largest I can fit into that hole. Eventually I will be grabbing a self contained amp/subwoofer that will be installed later on. Most likely into a cavity somewhere like the hatch door or under a seat. (There actually is space, if you remove the seat first before installing, and the unit I decided on requires only 4". If not, I will likely just secure it to the back of the rear seats. I don't fold mine down, ever, mainly because of the charging hump in my 2012 SL.

Installation involved prying off the door panel, unhooking the door panel, removing the old speakers, mounting the new speakers (which involves drilling a hole through the inside sheet metal to get the adaptor to fit, and then putting it back.
There are videos about Youtube that show this.
It is not that hard. once you get the first door done, you cruise through the others.
