getting a deal on SiriusXM

There have been some related threads before, like these:
and most recently

Anyway, use this thread to discuss how to get a deal on SiriusXM and/or deals you've gotten on their service. There's a long running thread at ... xm.473941/. You need to have a free account there to view it. It began in 2011 and is at 59 pages long now.

Essentially, for the longest time, if you canceled and stayed canceled for long enough or bargained w/their CSRs long enough, you can usually get XM Select for about $5/mo + fees for 5 or 6 months. When your subscription is about to renew at the regular rates, you need to call them to cancel or try to get the same/similar deal. You can usually rinse and repeat as many folks, including me, have done this for years.

However, as I noted at ... 55#p554255, the most recent offer I got was $5.60/month for 5 months.

The full price that SiriusXM wants is ridiculously high and not worth it for the sound quality. But, at $5 or even $5.60/mo, I'm ok with it.

For the Bolt I bought at end of Jan 2019, awhile ago, I already received some snail mail to get 6 months of XM Select for $4.99/mo + taxes and fees.

When I called to renew my '13 Leaf, the CSR really wanted me to get my Bolt going on the above. I told them I'll do it later. My free trial of All Access on my Bolt expires April 26.

Today, for my Bolt, I received another snail mail telling me to call them or visit, claiming they will give me 3 more months FREE for just a $2 processing fee + tax. I may jump on that tonight. :)
