DAB Radio "jumps"

I recently bought a used 2nd generation (2019) Leaf.

I have a problem with the DAB radio. Listening to a DAB station as I drive along, the radio occasionally "jumps" forward or backward - that is, it repeats or misses a few seconds of the programme. I'm no expert in this kind of thing, but I'm guessing that the problem may relate to moving from the zone of one transmission source (i.e. mast) to another. However, this never happened with the DAB radio in my previous car - a Suzuki.

Can anyone suggest a solution to this annoyance, please?

It sounds like you are describing satellite radio reception issues. (What is "DAB radio"?) As the car passes through 'dead spots' the tiny memory buffer gets exhausted, and the radio has to wait for more signal download.

DAB radio (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_A ... oadcasting) doesn't exist in the US, and this board is mostly US-centric.

The Wikipedia entry ended up leading me to find https://www.worlddab.org/countries.

Thanks for the links.
DAB is more robust with regard to noise and multipath fading for mobile listening,[4] although DAB reception quality degrades rapidly when the signal strength falls below a critical threshold, whereas FM reception quality degrades slowly with the decreasing signal, providing effective coverage over a larger area.
Sounds like reception issues to me, even if it isn't satellite radio.

Yep, might have more luck finding an enthusiast board for car audio in general, with an active DAB subforum or such. The only "easy" thing I might suggest is fitting a better antenna. As to what type that might be -- again car audiophiles might have better answers.

OK, thanks to all of you for responding. I note that DAB radio doesn't exist in the US (I didn't know that!), so I'll try to find a more Euro-centric board to ask advice.

Thanks again.
