I was gifted a $100 amazon gift card. I want to use it for our 2016 Leaf S. What upgrade would you make for $100... new speakers, window tint, seat covers, cargo organizers etc.

I've purchased the following items for my LEAF from Amazon:

  • ATP RA-136 Carbon Activated Premium Cabin Air Filter
  • Power TechON 1000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter 12V DC to 120V AC (power inverter, so my LEAF can supply 120V to my house during emergencies)
  • Measurement Limited Accutire MS-5530 Compact 300 PSI 12V Compressor (very compact 12V air compressor)
  • 2 Pack Car Back Rear Trunk Seat Magic Sticker Elastic String Net Mesh Storage Bag (velcro organizer mesh, for trunk area)
  • Konnwei KW902 mini ELM327 Bluetooth wireless OBDII Car Diagnostic Scan Tool (OBDII for LeafSpy use)

I also replaced most of the incandescent lights in my LEAF with LED equivalents, which provide way more bright light while using fewer watts. Finally, I bought a bumper guard rubber strip thingy, as my LEAF doesn't have one and I didn't want my dog to scratch the paint each time he jumped into the trunk. Can't recall the exact descriptions on those last couple of items...

Do not bother w/the w/KW-902: http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=23776.

There's no point in wasting time w/a faulty one if they're still in the channel. There are PLENTY of other non-defective OBD2 adapters compatible w/Leaf Spy.

FWIW, I've gotten none of these. I wouldn't waste $ on window tinting, but that's me...

The cargo organizer is, from what I've read, Crap. Stinky pressed wood chips, ultra-cheap spray-on "carpeting" and no real hinges - just ropes.

One caveat with the front floor mats: they didn't change the design, and while the driver's side fits perfectly, the passenger side has a gap between the vertical portion of the mat and the door frame. I assume that the Nissan mats have the same issue.

This...and seat covers. There was a group buy on Wet Okole seat covers way back when, so you can buy them "custom fitted" to the Leaf 1.0. Mine are going on 8 years old and still look great!

Alozzy noted a compact air compressor. There is no need to purchase a separate one if you have the Continental sealer/compressor kit that came standard on USA LEAFs (instead of a spare tire). The compressor works well without connecting the sealer bottle.

Leaf Spy Pro for $15:

An OBD extension cable for ~$11:

And whatever bluetooth OBD-II they're recommending nowadays.

Thanks for the replies.

You must be talking about a completely different product. The ones I bought are stretchy mess, much like light weight bungy cords, with velcro around the perimeter. Works great and provides much more storage in the trunk

I just provided a list of things I bought on Amazon. My stock one was broken by the previous owner, so I needed a replacement...

Well, the defective ones might be no longer in the channel, but who knows? Better to just get something else, IMHO.

This guy in Sep 2017 (http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=504435#p504435) had a defective KW-902.
