Re: 300-mile LEAF to be Announced this Month?

Yes, even the magazine article calls it a "Concept"... However, I would never buy a "sedan" that does not have a hatchback. I will pass-up the Honda Clarity for that reason.

Personally, I would not hold my breath for a 2021 release, as we may not wait for an EV that far away if you need one in the next year or 2.

Even if it is made, it may not arrive for 2.5 years, and we don't if we'll be around that far off ...

But I personally think the model Y might become the best selling Tesla yet. But the model Y could end up smashing their model 3 records.
Really? The MY is basically a M3 with a hatch. Besides, Tesla is production limited at about 100K vehicles per quarter, notwithstanding China.
Presently there's no potential production capacity from GF1. Tesla is far from becoming a serious OEM automotive company.

Elon agrees with you, and thinks that the Model Y will outsell the Model 3 2:1
He also thinks that Fremont can double its production limit. That was a key part in deciding to put Model Y production in Fremont rather than at the GF3 in Reno, NV.

Yes, Elon thinks alot, but reality and thoughts typically don't converge! Besides, the MY price is projected to be more than the M3.

The dichotomy is that Tesla is production limited, but yet Tesla reduces prices on the M3. Hardly what most companies would do
if product demand was as significant as implied from Tesla reports.

No ...
It is taller, for one
second, I think it will also have a beefier suspension to allow more towing capacity. Towing is the sekret ingredient.

Anyway, it still looks like Nissan was trying to compete in that EV segment with the Y, whether they will allow the model Y a head start or not.

If its everything it people say - CCS, 300 EPA miles, digital dash, it sounds nice. But what else will be out by 2021 or 2022, what will the price be, and what is the charge rate on CCS? I would hope they can a hit 150 kW, or better.

Yes, increase that Cd for less efficiency.

Actually, the Model Y has the same or better Cd than the Model 3. You are trolling up the wrong tree.

That is my guess too. The big question will be plug choice for the USA. If Nissan wants a shot at playing with the big boys it will have to kill CHAdeMO
