CanDo Log post processing

Tue Oct 18, 2011 7:44 pm

I decided to start a separate thread to discuss the various observations (http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.p ... 6&start=79) made by post processing the canbus logs.

I plotted the battery voltage versus gids for a log of my charge to 100% (ch100a) and the 6 hour log Garygid provided on the puzzle page (ChLoBatt). Very clearly my car reaches the target voltage at a lower gid number than others (assuming ChLoBatt is typical). However, I am not convinced my battery actually has lower capacity. I integrated the energy put into each battery and I got 18.2kWh over 216 gids versus 17.9 over 234 gids. So I am storing 0.086 kWh/gid while ChLoBatt is storing 0.076 kWh/gid. If anyone else has a log of a 100% charge, I'd be happy to add some more curves to this graph for comparison.

How do you post process the data logs? I assume you imported them into Excel?
I'd love to be able to do this for the visit by the Nissan Engineering Team in December.

Gary posted the binary format here:

I posted some perl code you can use as a starting point if you wish.
