Greenville Drive-In and Outdoor Cinema, 10700 RT-32, Greenville (Greene county), NY.
An exclusive all-electric group event, with our own movie! No combustion powered vehicles allowed.
Monday night, August 12, 2019. 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
The Greenville Drive-In Outdoor Cinema has agreed to hold the Capital District EV Drivers group's second annual "EV Night at the Drive-In" on Monday night, August 12th, and play the movie "Revenge of the Electric Car." Last year our group held the nation's first 'All EV Night'. It had never been done at a drive-in movie theater anywhere in the country before. This is not your average drive-in theater. They have an outdoor beer garden, cocktails, home cooked food. Arrive before sunset and have dinner with us. It's only 26 miles south of Albany, NY.
You can sit in your car, but most of us prefer to watch the movie together, sitting in the Adirondack style chairs in the beer garden. There are loudspeakers so you can hear the movie nicely. This an opportunity to explore other's EVs and even swap test drives.
Beyond your LEAF's range?
You can make an overnight out of it. There is a nice country motel 8.5 miles away that has 2 Clipper Creek and 2 Tesla Destination chargers on site that would make it an enjoyable trip. The Rose Motel, 3840 NY-145, Durham, NY. Rates from Maia Michaelson at the motel:
Standard room: $90
1 bedroom bungalow: $135
People can get more information and reserve online at http://www.rosemotelny.com
. EV charging is free for overnight guests.
As this is a private event of the Capital District EV Drivers group, there won't be anyone in the admission booth. Just drive your pure electric vehicle into the facility and see me when you arrive. I am suggesting a donation of $10 per person or $20 per car load. We as a group, will be donating the proceeds to the drive-in for the use of their facility. Please patronize their concession stand and beer garden. Mixed cocktails are Dwight's specialty!
Rain Date: Tuesday, night August 13th.
