Please mark your calendars! We have some great Meetups coming up this summer and ALL EV owners are welcome. Please register at http://www.MDVolt.org so we can notify you if there is a weather event.

Note, we changed our original location on July 7th to Bagels n' Grindz, in the same complex as the Hotel at Arundel Preserve.

Saturday, July 7th at 10 AM
EV Gathering/Coffee Meetup
Bagels N Grinds
7791 Arundel Mills Boulevard, Hanover, MD

This month we are gathering at Bagels n' Grindz in Hanover, MD. This is in the same development as the Hotel at Arundel Preserve. There are five ChargePoint stations in the hotel garage and we may have access to two more nearby if needed.

No need for sunscreen and a hat at this one. The bagel and coffee shop has outdoor seating in the shade and if it is too hot, there is plenty of room inside.

The hotel is designed and built to LEED standards. The manager has arranged to give us a tour of the hotel's eco-friendly and energy efficient features. The meet up location is just a few miles from the mall and new casino at Arundel Mills if you want to do some shopping or gambling while in the area.

Saturday, August 4th at 10 AM to 12 PM (Rain date: 8/18/2012)
FedEx Field Meetup, Sponsored by NRG Energy
FedEx Field
1600 Fedex Way, Landover, MD

Come learn more about NRG's Solar and EVSE installation at FedEx Field. All 10 of NRG's eVgo chargers are Level 2, with a single J-1772 connector. These chargers do not currently require a key fob, so you will be able to easily access them on August 4th.

Anyone who attends the Meeting sposered by NRG at Fedex field.

Please ask how an electric car driver who has game tickets can possibly use these chargers without a purple parking pass!

What good are the chargers if they are not accesible and in the highest $ parking area?

Maybe NRG or Fedex field will make exceptions to allow EV driver to park and use the chargers on game day?

thank you in advance

Regarding charging at FedEx Field during Redskins football games, did anyone find out the official policy on this?

"http://evadc.org/2012/11/19/ev-charging-at-fedexfield/" mentioned that charging is available in general, and "http://www.cleanenergyauthority.com...gton-redskins-go-solar-at-fedex-field-071411/" said the following, back in 2011:

Along with powering the stadium, the panels will provide energy to 10 electric car charging stations. Of the 10, four will be reserved for premier parking pass holders who are allowed to reserve preferred spaces, Wylie said. The other six will be available on a first come, first serve basis, and all of them will offer free electric car charging.
So if you have a on-site parking permit, and you get there early enough, then you can charge at one of the six spots?

some one should email NRG or the redskins/fedex field about this issue.
if you pay for a parking pass and have an EV and request it they should allow you to go to the charger area.

I went to a Redskins game last Monday night with an on-site permit to get in to the on-site parking areas, and the parking attendants who I initially talked to didn't even know where the chargers were located, so I drove toward the actual lot with the main 8 chargers, and one of the attendants in that area knew where to direct me to the chargers. And even though I didn't have the correct colored on-site permit to enter the lot, the attendant seemed to know that cars that want to charge can still enter the lot to charge.

(I've updated the PlugShare app so that future people would know.)

Thanks for doing this. I Have some contacts at NRG that are usually at the Skins games and I have a few cell #s I can provide. Other than getting to the spots, how did it go? Were any other spots in use?

It went great. Arrived 2 hours before kickoff. It was a freezing evening, so it was great to be able to charge, and linger in the Leaf with the heat cranked-up before heading into the stadium.

Out of the 8 chargers in the parking lot I was in, one was being used by a facilities' EV that appears to be quasi-permanently parked, and another by a fellow fan in a plugin Prius. So with my Leaf, there were 5 chargers left that were available. I'm not sure whether the chargers were used later on, but I suspect that most of them were not.

In the other "Platinum" parking lot with 2 chargers, I don't think anyone used them that entire night. (At Half Time, I happen to notice from the upper level of the stadium that there were no vehicles charging in that lot.)

I get inquiries all the time about FedEx from a post I put on the GM-Volt forum. A Model S owner went to the Sunday night game last weekend.

Feel free to checkout mdvolt.org. We do events all over the MD/DC/VA region. We're even working on one in WV next year. A possible WV sociability run/tour.
