Looking good up there on the Wasatch Front! I think I'll stop by the two Walgreens down here in the St. George area and "encourage" their managers to follow suit.

Are those Walgreens stations up north free to the public? Do they have 240V J1772 EVSEs, or only 120V plugs (like the few outlets SLC designated at Liberty Park, the Main Library, Smiths Marketplace, etc.)?

Right now they are free to use. I am sure that will change at some point. They are all 240V and J1772.

Have you stopped by a few of these Walgreens to check them out? Used any of them? Do you need to have a SemaCharge card to use them, even though they're "free" for now?

I've gotta admit: if they really are all up-and-running, I am pleasantly surprised that so many installations have taken place in such a short amount of time. Not what I would have expected in this state!

Yes I have used almost every one of them. I wanted to see if they really worked and I wanted to store the locations in the GPS. Never know when that might come in handy.

Last Sunday I parked at the Provo Walgreens for a couple of hours and rode the Provo river bike trail with the mountain bike. Very nice trail that I did not even know about. It goes through town and over to Provo canyon. Next week I want to go back and ride more of that trail.

I was surprised as well by all these new stations.

No card needed right now. In the future, who knows?

I did make a purchase at each of the stores just to say thank you. I did talk to a couple of the store managers and most are just glad to see someone make use of the station.

Cool! Mat Carlile in the "Clean Fuels" office told me that they had ordered four LEAFs and were going to install EVSEs for them. Glad to see that it happened!

That is interesting. How long ago did he tell that?

Just to be clear there are 3 charge stations in the public area and 3 more stations in the fenced area where DAQ cars are parked overnight. It appeared to me the 3 stations in the fenced area were empty and I did not see any EV's in the fenced area, but I really did not look very closely.

Let's see... he told me that in an e-mail on April 2. I double checked with him, however, and my numbers are off. They have ordered 2 LEAFs, scheduled for delivery in "October or November." He also stated in that e-mail that they had installed 6 EVSEs, so it sounds like that is indeed the case. Nice to know that there are 3 in the open public area.

Good to see these charge stations coming online, but what we really need is a bunch of charge stations in useful locations where you can shop/eat/etc. Downtown SLC needs a bunch of charge points around the mall areas and office buildings.

Hmmm. I thought there were 18 Walgreens along the Wasatch Front that had EVSEs installed. I guess that there aren't any in the downtown area...? Ah, well... that's 18 more than we have here. Besides mine, only the NIssan dealer has one.

Just wanted to let the Utah Leaf drivers know that the Blink charge station at the Main Library in downtown SLC ( 210 East 400 South ) is currently down. I called it in to the service center but they would not give me an ETA on fixing it.
I will check the status again in a couple of days.

The station is still down and I called the support line again and they still do not have an ETA on fixing it. Case number 25623.

Wow Blink service is really really poor.
