Now that our third year has ended, I have started a new thread
to use for the next (forth) year, since this one has grown too long:

"SoCal Branch Year 4 LEAF-Gathering 37a - 7 Sep 2013"

---------------------
Our Third Year of Gatherings begins here.

Join us for a Saturday morning breakfast buffet at Hometown Buffet,
or some other location (see below).

Nominally, we Gather from about 8:30 until about 11:00 AM, but some will arrive at about 8:00 and some may stay later, if there is enough interest. Some come for a while, but have to leave early because they have a "real" life. :D

I usually try to arrive by 8:00, and am usually among the last to leave. HTB starts serving Breakfast at 7:30, and transitions to their Lunch menu at about 11:00.

Usually, we LEAF-Gather on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.
Occasionally we have Local Clusters for special events at different locations.

------------ Locations -------------

Hometown Buffet on 17th in Santa Ana:
Located just East of I-5 on 17th street in Santa Ana
1008 EAST 17TH STREET
SANTA ANA, CA 92701
Phone: (714) 541-3020
Their "breakfast" hours are from 7:30 until 11:00 (when "lunch" begins").
I plan to arrive between 8 and 8:30, and stay until at least 11.

Hometown Buffet in Cerritos:
About 0.2 miles east of the 605 freeway. Use the "South Street" exit about a mile south of the 91 freeway, going east to 11471 South Street. The HTB is north of South Street, "hidden" behind other buildings.

Cerritos Nissan:
18707 Studebaker Road, just west of 605. Take the first exit south of 91 (South St), and go west one short block, turning right (north) onto Studebaker Road. About 0.2 miles north, turn left onto Auto Square Dr. and then left again into Cerritos Nissan.

In the past, Cerritos Nissan has kindly offered to provide breakfast for us in their very nice UP-the-STAIRS Meeting Room. Usually, they have L1 and L2 charging available.

(The nearby HTB, just east of the 605 freeway, is the "backup" location.)

Suggestions Welcome

Nissan is having a test drive event at Los Cerritos Center September 14-16. They are featuring the '13 Altima and '12 Leaf.

Any interest in moving our meeting to the 15th to coincide or better to avoid it?

Railroaded again?
Oh well, ... I guess I have another year in me.

The Nissan Innovation Event at the Los Cerritos Center

in Cerritos on Sep 15th is now an alternative to the
8th, but maybe we will keep both depending upon
the interest in either.

I registered for the Innovation Event for the 15th.
They did not offer any time-of-day reservations.

Possibly, going there (walking from HTB) at about noon,
while others are eating their lunch, would be good?

At HTB, breakfast prices last until 10:30, I believe.
I suggest Gathering at HTB at about 10 AM, or before,
if there is sufficient interest.

Gary,

It might help to avoid confusion between these threads to add "3rd Year" to this title or something similar. Tripinnate or trifoliate (ternate) come to mind a well as triennial. Then again in deference to Nissan- Sannen me.

Ja doyoubi ni aimashou!

#!@#$%^&*()_++_)(*&^%+_)(*&^%$#@! Why can't Japanese writing characters be posted!!!!

Good news:
Tom B. came out of surgery yesterday and is feeling good today.

It seems that they are sending him home today (Wednesday),
and I will post again when I know more.

Congratulations, Tom :D

I just spoke with Tom and he seems to be doing MUCH better than I did.
With a bit of "better living through chemistry" for pain management,
he actually got some sleep last night.

He is still a bit exhausted, and eating very lightly - none of Kat's triangular
potatoes or things that might challenge the lower end of his exhaust system.

He expects to be able to read the forum soon, and write his own status.

And, yes, he appreciates all the good wishes and prayers.
Cheers, Gary
