Sun Sep 14, 2014 7:48 am

We've had our LEAF for nearly 3 years and haven't needed "saving" so far. When was the last time you ran out of gasoline? You're smart enough to not run out of power? So are we.
also, I do not see many leaves on I-5 headed to SF from LA. WHY would that be??
Except for Tesla superchargers, there currently isn't much in the way of charging infrastructure along the I-5 corridor. I drove our LEAF from north of SF, to south of LA this summer. Once out of the SF Bay Area, I generally followed Hwy 101 until I got to the general LA area.

No. Many do. We have 2.

Regards.
I noticed you're still working with polymers.

You appear to be trolling, but if you are open minded and willing to listen and study, then your misconceptions can be addressed here. Anyway, the answer to that question is, not very much. In about 51K miles of LEAF driving over 3+ years, I've never needed a tow. The great majority of LEAF drivers do pay attention to the remaining charge, which is generally much more accurate than a gas gauge on an ICE.

Well, the LEAF isn't an all-purpose car. It's great for shorter distance driving. A great many LEAF owners are families like mine who have chosen to replace one of their gasoline cars with an electric-only car, which then becomes a primary car. I wouldn't normally recommend a LEAF as an only car, though some have made it work.

You really need some kind of tablet or smart phone when driving a leaf very hard from home. If you have say, 30 miles to get home you will know you are short well before your car just stops. You get out your computer, find a charger, divert your course to it, and you won't run out. If there is no charger, you just slow way down. You plan the distance of each trip you have not taken before, looking at the chargers along the way.The only people who run out are just plain not paying attention.
