Thinking about buying this:

2019 Leaf SL PLUS

Good deal? Anything to look out for?

Not sure but do consider https://electrek.co/best-electric-vehicle-prices/#Nissan and https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/taxevb.shtml (assuming you have enough tax liability to qualify for the full $7500 on a new qualifying EV).

A new one would have its warranties start from the day you purchase vs. whatever the original in-service date is of that car.

Thank you for the first link. A lot to think about... 2019 Bolts without fire risk go for around $24,000 from what I have seen.

If you want to compare a new 2021 Plus, check out this thread:

I'm not sure if dealers are still offering the $7500 factory discount. I was able to get an additional $3000 from the dealer and expect to get the $7500 fed tax credit. With a total of $18,000 in reductions off MSRP, the 2021 may look very competitive with "used" costs. You will have to deal with "dealer add-ons" and extended warranties, but a test of your negociating skills. :D

As for fire risk or not, not all '19 Bolts were recalled for that. Mine wasn't. However, a subset were recalled + all '17 and '18 Bolts.

The final remedy is out for all of those now:

URLs like the below have more associated documents (currently 35):

I believe GM only does 3 year leases on Bolts (was that way when '17 Bolt came out), so it's likely you'll find plenty returned at end of 3 year lease or a few months early due to some promo. If you go Bolt, if you care about DC fast charging, make sure you get one w/that inlet. http://carcharging.us/ev/bolt.php shows with vs. without.

OP we have that same car, without the cold weather package and heat pump heater. If you are in a cold climate check that out: you want the heat pump and would prefer NOT to have a Plus with just the radiant heater (toaster element). OTOH the difference in electrical use over the course of a year, with around 1000 miles per month, is maybe $100 at most so go for it if you like the car.

I would say that's a good price in this market.

@dmacarthur, OP is not looking at an S, they're looking at an SL.

The SV/SV+ was also subjected to the dreaded, stupid "All Weather Package" atrocity, although as you note, the SL and SL+ all came with the heated front seats, steering wheel and the heat pump. Happily, that nonsense was dropped again, and starting with the 2021 MY, they are again standard on the SV and SV+.

I would agree, used Leaf prices have gone crazy. Too bad you can't get a LeafSpy reading on it, that would show the a lot more detail about the battery.

Thank you all for the info. I was not aware this model came with a heat pump. This should help my winter range as I am located in Maine. Although, there will be weeks during the winter where the resistance heater will probably be the only option.

How well do these hold up corrosion wise? The road salt here can do scary things to anything with Fe in it. Are there many areas(behind front fender etc.) that collect road salt/sand?

How about traction on snow? I would be comparing it to a VW golf with studded snow tires. Obviously I wouldn't want to put studs on the leaf, but I don't mind having a second set of winter tires.

I've never seen a really rusty Leaf. They do get surface rust - more on the inside of the motor compartment and in the wheel wells and on the suspension and steering bits than on the body exterior. The Winter traction is very good with dedicated snows, and ok with just all seasons - as long as they are A/S tires that actually do well in snow. The Leaf is heavy for its size, with the weight down low, so it's a good choice for FWD Winter driving. Many of us use Michelin x-Ice snow & ice tires on them, on their own rims if possible. Juke rims will work, as well as the steel or alloy rims from any year Leaf with the same wheel diameter.

^+1. I've done a lot of snow driving and I'd say the Leaf is as good or better in nasty conditions as any FWD car I've driven. Studs will kill the range but if you have a lot of ice I can understand using them.

Welcome, I'm in the New England area too.

The only place I can think of that may be prone to corrosion is the rear wheel well area. I'm not sure if the 2019 & up models have made changes, but I used truck bed liner spray on my wheel wells to cover the exposed metal area.
More on it here:

I haven't done much driving on snow, but so far it has been good.

Yes, indeed. Interestingly, Nigerian scams often involve fictional individuals employed by oil companies - especially scams involving romance. (No, I wasn't a victim, but the sister of a close friend very nearly was.) My theory is that it's because oil exploration and processing is big in Nigeria, and the scammers try to use what they know - English not being high on that list...
