Nissan No Charge to Charge Program

I have been leasing the current LEAF for almost 2 years now. Initially, I did not receive the NCTC card due to that the dealer was not a participating dealership (In Riverside County, CA).

So I was checking with NCTC website intermittently and 2 months ago the NCTC card has been approved. I have been using the quick charge for free since, mainly at EVgo stations.

Now my question is does NCTC card expires 2 years after activation or 2 years since the lease/purchase date? From the website, sounds like 2 years after activation. https://www.nissanusa.com/content/dam/n ... etails.pdf

By the way, the program ends on 7/7/2019 so the last date of free charging would have been 7/7/2021.

For those who don't have NCTC card, should check out the website to see if they are eligible later. https://www.ez-charge.com/

How do you get a card if you didn't get one from the dealership when the car was purchased or leased? The website wants the card number.

Hmm, IIRC reading from somewhere, the 2011 model year Leafs do not qualify for the NCTC program.

But, if anyone with a 2011 model year Leaf was successful in getting a NCTC card from the site link below, pls let us all know.... :-)

Any idea how to tell when your 2 year period is up? I waited some months before activating my card, and would be nice to know when my free period is over.

Somehow NCTC would know the last day of the program based on VIN number.

Uhh... Nissan NCTC didn't even exist when I leased my 1st Leaf at end of July 2013, let alone in 2011. So, I never qualified. My current (used) Leaf has an original in-service date about a month before that car, so that makes just as ineligible.

Notice the July 9, 2014 date in https://www.autoblog.com/2014/07/09/nis ... eaf-sales/ and the mention of July 1, 2014 at https://www.chargepoint.com/about/news/ ... ee-and-ez/?
“No Charge to Charge” will launch using the EZ-Charge card on July 1, 2014, in 10 of the top markets for Nissan LEAF sales, including San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Ore., Nashville, Phoenix, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston and Washington, DC. The “No Charge to Charge” offer and EZ-Charge card will be provided retroactively to buyers in these markets who purchased their LEAF on or after April 1, 2014.

After the rollout in the first 10 markets, Nissan plans to add “No Charge to Charge” and EZ-Charge at LEAF dealers in at least 15 additional markets during the following year. More details on the programs in these additional markets will be made available closer to their launch.

I filled out the request form a while ago, to see if I could get the NCTC card for when I bought out the lease this year, but even though it says they'll get back to me in 48 hours, I never heard anything.

An update:

The 2 years NCTC program is based on the date when the LEAF is purchased or leased. It is NOT based on the date when the card is activated.
