Indeed. It's odd that somehow he and Greg Kelly are seemingly the only guilty parties here. Bizarre. There's the whistleblower(s?)... Nobody else knew and is in trouble given the army of accountants and lawyers that Nissan must have? Were internal controls that lousy and/or that easily bypassed by Ghosn, Kelly and the whistleblower(s)?
I not a huge fanboy but I am a huge admirer of what Ghosn did: turning Nissan around from near bankruptcy. And, he seemed to be such a huge proponent of EVs. All of this seems like such a stab in the back.
As some have expressed elsewhere, I wish there was something we could do for him at this point. Being stuck in prison w/o access to your lawyers during almost certainly daily interrogations must suck. And, the supposed incredibly high 99.9% conviction rate is scary.
