The usual reason - subsidies were decreased at the end of June, with complete elimination for cars with ranges below 250 km (155 miles), and halved for those above that. The Chinese car market is decreasing as a whole (down 6%), but as noted PEV sales are down 27%, making up 4% of the market. There are people who believe that PEVs are ready to compete head-on with ICEs without (direct to consumer) subsidies, perks or mandates. We're not there yet.
