When I connect a 12V battery to the positive and negative terminals of my 2014 inverter, and then I test voltage from the positive post to the inverter case, I read a voltage that quickly drops to below 0.1V...At one point it dropped down to more like 4-5V. In a less controlled "experiment", I found similar behavior with the traction pack B+, but it dropped down to about 2/3 the pack voltage. I've never been able to get a test light to light across the same locations that I can measure voltage though, so I'm not sure what's going on.
Is this unsafe considering it doesn't seem to hold a current?
Is there a way to check if my inverter is damaged and leaking voltage internally somehow?
