Replacing 3.6KWh with 6.6KWh On-Board Charger
Has anyone successfully replaced a 2012's 3.6KWh onboard charger with
a used 6.6kWh?

OBC wattage is measured in kW, not kWh.

It would probably be near impossible w/o a LOT of other things needing swapping, esp. since it moved from the back of the car (under the hump) to the front on '13+ Leafs.

See 1st 4 URLs at https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=576111#p576111. There are also coolant and high voltage lines running from the front of the car to the back which are n/a on '13+ Leaf. The motor (which is part of the PDM stack) is also different on '13+ Leafs from prior ones.

Your only semi-easy choice is the Brusa charger: https://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=12323.

You just need a wrecked 6.6kw car to pull all the odds and ends out of.
I can run up to 1,800 miles a month on my leaf and I mostly use a 240V 12 amp charger. Why the need to 6.6kw?

The 2011/2012 never had a 6.6kW OBC option. So, as per Cwerdna, retrofitting a 2013-2017 OBC to a 2011/2012 would be technically challenging.

At that point you are basically removing the insides of the 2011/2012 and replacing it with the 2013 or newer insides, seems to a technical challenge and cost that would make it easier just to purchase a 2013 with everything you want already in it. :D

If your '12 Leaf has CHAdeMO, https://www.evseadapters.com/products/portable-chademo-ccs-combo-dc-quick-charger/ with J1772 adapter would allow your Leaf to charger faster on J1772 stations that are above 16 amps at 240 volts.
