Dealer named Gina of Performance Nissan in the ciy of Duarte said they would match Fontana Nissan's price! Gina e-mailed me yesterday.

How about the free delivery to your house within 200 miles?

Give Gina Campbell a call at Performance Nissan, Duarte, CA
626-305-3000 and ask about delivary of LEAF to your home 200 miles away and confirm that Performance Nissan will match Fontana Nissan's $1,000 off MSRP

Has anybody talked to Carson Nissan?
They seem to have good reviews.
I believe Lai Cie from Carson posted here awhile back.
I've made email contact to ask what their pricing will be; also pointed out the Mossy and Fontana deals.
Crickets so far.

Hi LA!
I received an e-mail today (August 16th) from Performance Nissan in Duarte (LA County). They told me that they will have the LEAF for test drives in 30 to 45 days! YYYEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH! :D
Can't wait to test drive it! Hope to see you all there!

As the name would imply, future LEAFer in the garden city of Long Beach, CA.

Our Signal Hill dealership (Schaier's) recently closed and I've contacted both Carson and Cerritos via email for info on pricing. Lai-ce at Carson was enthusiastic in her response about the LEAF but could offer no pricing details at the time. Cerritos initially wouldn't offer any details, but over the weekend their "dedicated LEAF specialist" Jon sent an email inviting me to a LEAF event; unfortunately, I was out of town. I wrote him back mentioning the Fontana and Costa Mesa deals and pointed him in the direction of this site. Hopefully they'll engage the community here and come forward with their commitments on pricing. I'll follow-up with both one more time before I settle on one of the competing dealerships.

Supposedly the Leaf will be available to test drive at the AltCar Expo this year in Santa Monica. Oct. 1st and 2nd

Thanks for that! I've gone ahead and registered.

@LBCev...if you check in again with Cerritos Nissan, you might want to tell them that Nissan has them listed as NOT being Leaf Certified on their dealer map. That said, would you care to share more details about this "Leaf event" they're going to be having?

Thanks for the Alternative Fuels Expo!
I signed up too!
Cerritoes Nissan is kind of weird. The dealer told me to come into discuss what kind of LEAF I want.

Mission Hills Nissan and Duarte wouldn't commit to anything. Duarte actually said $1000 over invoice but when I confirmed they said $1000 over MSRP?!?

Huh? Does he not know the difference?

Here is what Tragina Campbell (she goes by "Gina") of Duarte Nissan wrote me in an e-mail: "Bring in your offer on the LEAF and I will meet it or beat it"

She e-mailed me August 9th.

I've had nothing but negative experiences with Mission Hills Nissan regarding the Leaf and would not consider them at all at this point.

I just had an AWESOME conversation with Alex Ramos (hope I spelled that right Alex) at Fontana Nissan. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and he did again confirm that YES they are $1000 BELOW MSRP.

He was very well versed in the process. (not like the other places I called)

He certainly earned the right to be my preferred dealer. :)

I've had the same experience with Fontana Nissan. Very knowledgable, friendly and helpful. And they just sent me a Nissan Leaf mouse pad, just got it today!

Hobbyguy- very exciting!
Please let us know how it goes with the ordering! Wonder how long after you request the quote from them you get it back? Please post how it goes and how long it all took!?
Good luck and I am jealous!

@mwalsh... The details were vague in the email. It was characterized as "an event to reserve your LEAF". At best it sounded like a meet and greet to discuss how Cerritos would handle the roll-out. As I said, I was out of town and missed the opportunity. I've since received another email from them describing a LEAF "RESERVATION PARTY" for the (now delayed) August 27th orders. They also confirmed that "MSRP is not a problem." It all seems a little gimmicky to me. Also, I too noted that they are not LEAF certified, which gives me additional pause.

UPDATE: While they would not commit to MSRP or less, Carson said that they were aware that "many dealers are offering discounts and special pricing, and we are prepared to remain competitive with other local dealers." Frankly, of the area dealers that I've contacted regarding the LEAF, Carson has been the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would definitely choose them if they would only get firm on price. As someone with a "September" order window, I'm really looking forward to reading about the experiences of LA/OC LEAFers ordering on Tuesday.

Well a bunch of us are ordering our leafs tomorrow. I am one of them. Rest assured that if any of these dealers we have been discussing tries to reneg on their stated price or tries to tack on some hidden fees, I will sing like a canary on this forum to let all Sept., Oct., Nov. buyers know to steer clear.
