can't change my email address

Hi - I went to account settings, submitted my password to change my email address (the bottommost white box where it says to edit email address) but just went back to a screen that does not have a box to type in a different email address. Please tell me how to do this (in simple language, I am not particularly computer literate which is why I'm not getting anywhere, no doubt). Thanks.

It's a little confusing. You should have changed the email address on the "Edit account settings" screen, entered it in a second time where it says "Confirm e-mail address", put in your password at the bottom, then hit submit. It does not take you to a second screen, the email change happens all in one step.

Thanks for answering, but I was in the "Edit Account Setting" screen, and there is no box that I can type a new email address into. My email address is not in one of those white boxes, and there is nothing saying enter or confirm email address. I tried highlighting my email address that I want to change but that doesn't do anything. I can type in my password in three places (white boxes), but no place I can type in the email address. Maybe it's because I have a Mac? Still confused...

You don't see four white boxes you can type into under "Edit account settings"? You should see white boxes for:

• E-mail address (this one filled in with your current address)
• Confirm e-mail address
• New password
• Confirm password

The website doesn't care what kind of a computer you have, but it is sensitive to what web browser you are using. Are you using Safari?

That's what I'm missing alright; I only see my email address as black letters on the gray backround, not in a white box. There are only white boxes for password and confirm password. I am indeed using Safari, (version 5.1.7 if that tells you anything).
Computers still mystify me. If only it could speak and tell me what it wants.

Today I tried changing the email address from a friend's computer, a Dell with Mozilla Firefox. No luck. ???

Mine is same. No box to edit email.

Can the username be changed.... or do I just start over?

It seems like it would be a very strange restriction, but I wonder if only forum supporters can use that feature.
