DoH said:Something just doesn't look right on the Monthly lease payments for a 2013 Leaf SL ($477.39)
The monthly looks way high with the $7500 credit and Costco auto sales ($359 over invoice) so the dealer said. Can someone look over the info below and let me know if i was taken?
Market Value: 38,020+ Fees is what they wrote on the worksheet but the sticker shows $36,910. :?
Sticker: $36,910
* $34,840 SL
* $170.00 Floor Mats & Cargo Area Mat
* $1,050.00 Premium Package
* $850 Destination charge
State Tax (4.172%)
Fed Rebate ($7,500)
So, this is how they broke it down on the work sheet.
$35,164 + Fees
- 7,000 Rebates
$27,644
Monthly with 0 Down & 35 months
$477.39/month x 35 months
$15,502.20 Residual (0.42)
I found the following for Dealer Invoice Price:
SL: $32,635.00
Prem: $911
Floor Mats: $132
Dest: $850
Totals: $34,528
What is the Money factor? It seems like they are charging me a ridiculously high amount for the MF (Interest Rate). Let me know. I'd like to use this experience to better my neg skills. Thanks!
DJev said:I need some help. I'm in the Boulder/Denver Colorado area looking for a good 24 or 36 month lease deal on a 2013 S model.
The cars seem to be on dealers lots, but the lease deals don't seem that good.
Here is what I have found so far:
2013 S model with Quick Charge
$1800 down + 1st payment of 194 (both numbers don't include tax) = $1994.00
23 payments of $194.00
Total with out taxes = 1800.00 + 24x194.00 = $6456.00
Per month cost (before taxes) = 6456.00 / 24 = $269.00
I have seen others on here (especially CA folks) get the monthly cost before tax down near $226 to $242.
Here are the exact numbers from the lease quote sheet:
MSRP: 31,120.00
Savings: 2,743.00
Rebate: 8,150.00
Cap Cost: 28,377.00
Sales Tax: 1,213.45
Dealer/State Fees: 556.95
Total Price: 30,147.40
Customer Cash: 1,800.00
Net Residual: 15,871.20
Drive Off: 10,993.79
Lease Drive Off = $10,993.79 - $8,150 + 1st months payment:
$1,800 Down + 1st payment + Tax = $1800 + $210.74 + $825.85 = $2843.79
So after taxes this looks like: 2843.79 + 23*210.00 = $7673.79
Can anyone comment on this? It just seems high to me. I have been patiently looking at Leaf's since last August.

what is the
"minus $7000" rebates? should that not be at least $7500? either way,
if your final price is $27,644 and your residual would be 42% of the regular price then residual value would be $15,502 so take that off your final cost and you have the "principal" on the loan so rent charge is about... (off the top of my head) $4000
so ya, you have just over $12k difference and u are paying 16.5kish...
BUT
it seems we are missing part of the picture here

Typo on the $7000. It was $7500 federal rebate. $27,644 was the final price. How did they come out with the $477.39 monthly lease (35 months)? I updated the original post with the values from the lease agreement. :?

what we are missing is your rent charge. it tells you the exact amount you pay for the term of the loan. its on the lease (the MF is not) but if you want to do it the hard way.
well its going to be final price minus residual (27664-15502) 12162 is the principle you would pay. the rest is rent fee (interest basically) licensing, taxes etc
on an SL premium with no down I say it sounds like your rent fee is a bit higher than a few I have seen here but not excessively so. to be honest with ya; cant say I know anyone who has gone whole hog on a lease. closest I can think of is one who had SV loaded and his payments were like $350 or so with $1000 down or in that neighborhood.
what we really need is copy of your lease posted here.
take me for example. my final price was 29k even. my residual was lower % but only 12179.70 due to lower cost so I am at the difference which is 16820 minus my down payment of $7500 tax credit, $1000 loyalty cash and $650 promo leaves me financing 7670. my payments are 245
so me 245 a month on 7670, you 477 on 12162 take off your 4.5% tax and its 'about' 455
so if looking at the percentage of monthly verses total loan mine is 3.19% (245/7670) and yours is 3.74 % (455/12162)
so not so much difference and that difference could be much smaller but without full info, hard to say.
FYI; my loan was for all intensive purposes, interest free. my TOTAL rent charge for the 3 year lease is $35.95
DaveinOlyWA said:oh ya!! that is way high. I wouldnt take anything over $500 your mf has to be sky high. i thought that the trim would play a part in the terms but that is way too high

So the crooks took me for the Costco no haggle $300 over invoice and slaughter me via the Rent Charge! Argggh. So, anything closer to $500 would be more acceptable? How do I figure out the Money Factor (MF) that I got taken for?

Is that still a good deal? My other dealers also given me for 24 months of 0.00084 money factor, how are folks here getting the supper low 0.00003 rate?
