Another Infiniti boss bails out...

Infiniti may be beyond help... It has never been able to garner any panache or cache and has perennially been a distance also-ran behind Lexus, Acura and the rest of the luxury pack. The bottom line is that they really don't have any competitive product to offer in the segment...

For a short while, Infiniti had done quite well with the original G35. But then they lost their way again, and this stupid "call everything a Q-something" naming scheme just made it worse.

Acura isn't doing so hot either. June 2014 sales are off almost 19% from the same time last year, far worse than Infiniti (almost -6% for the same time period). They really need to release the next NSX soon, because otherwise their brand is becoming little more than overpriced Hondas.

Yep, the G35 was a very good car and about the only decent vehicle they had. Then they royally screwed it up...

I think that Acura sales are down this June because about that time last year they introduced both the new MDX and RDX and that pumped sales up for a bit... Still, I'd buy an Acura any day before I bought an Infiniti (our 2003 MDX was a great vehicle)...

Acura, Audi sold about 150k and Infiniti 120k. Not that different ...

BMW, Lexus & MB all sold over 250k.

http://online.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2 ... sales.html says that GM sales for that month were only down 3.5% and 1.0% YTD.

Oddly. Johan de Nysschen is back at VW. I stumbled across that fact at https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a3 ... ype-drive/.
