After my TCU was replaced, I didn't have to do anything special. But prior to the replacement, the dealership wanted to look at my car and get some numbers off the Carwings info screen. And the day before my replacement appointment, someone from Nissan (not at the dealership) called and asked me to go out to my car and read those same numbers to them. I couldn't get clear details what was happening, but they said my dealer would need the old numbers in order to swap the TCU.IBeLeaf2 wrote:Well...
I have contacted dealer and they are supposed to get back to me. But in the mean time, looking at the manuals I see that one very important step for installation is:
"Contact ATX help desk to notice the termination of replaced TCU and connection of new TCU. (VIN is required)"
I wonder if there is a delay or if some glitch has occurred?
Anyone else have a problem or have to do anything special to make the new TCU work?
I have re-accepted the user agreement.
This is the first TCU the dealer has replaced.
From: With 24 Days Left to AT&T 2G Shut-Off, 2011-2014 Nissan LEAF Customers Offered $199 3G Telematics Upgrade - Transport EvolvedFar behind promised schedule, Nissan begun to contact affected LEAF owners yesterday and, as we found out this week, is offering to replace the TCU on 2011-2014 LEAFs for $199., The procedure, which will take a few hours, will leave customer’s cars with the same credentials and login information for NissanConnect EV (formerly CARWINGS) as before, and should restore full functionality to cars whose telematics systems would otherwise go dark on December 31, 2016. Just stopped at my local dealer. Some cars already have 3G in them. You can check by going into menu, carwings, carwings settings, down arrow, unit ID information. If TCUID starts with 2012-1, or anything other than 2012, it is already 3G and requires no update. If TCUID starts 2012-0, it is 2G.bpnugent wrote:I called my dealer today, and (after calling me back an hour later) the service guy quoted the $199 co-pay and said they needed to order the parts (3-5 days). In an interesting twist, they said that they needed to inspect my MY13 before ordering the parts, as if they need to confirm what hardware is in my car to know exactly what the replacement hardware is. Prior to calling me back, he wasn't sure whether this was a software or hardware update, so this must be rolling out to them pretty recently.

I don't think the 3rd party API is "broken" (although technically it's not a 3rd party API, it's just THE API)...probably your 3rd party APP is to blame. LeafManager continues to work like a charm for me and is a one button press on the widget to turn on HVAC.nerys wrote:Apparently the new system wont let this work.
