Interesting...

Doesn't mention leases, though...

...As part of our effort to accelerate electric vehicle transportation alternatives throughout the
United States, Nissan North America, Inc. is offering eligible customers of Pacific Gas and
Electric Company (PG&E) a special opportunity to purchase the all new, 100% electric, 2018
Nissan LEAF®. With each new 2018 Nissan LEAF® purchase during the program period, eligible
customers can receive a $3,000 rebate off MSRP, during the program period, plus a potential
Federal tax incentive of up to $7,500.
State incentives may also be available! ...

Just saw that PG&E announced a 3K rebate on 2018 Leaf (in addition to 500 previous rebate). With the Fed 7500 and CA 2500, now the rebates add up to 13.5K. Wow. I was considering a Clarity, but this is giving me pause.

Anybody know if the rebate applies to lease, or purchase only ?

There's already an existing thread on this. See http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=25729.

To answer your question, http://www.pgecurrents.com/2018/04/24/pge-customers-can-save-3000-on-new-nissan-leaf-electric-vehicle/ points to http://www.pgecurrents.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/PGE-Nissan-Discount-FAQ_FINAL.pdf?pdf=Nissan_discount_FAQ which says
Q: Can the $3,000 LEAF purchase incentive be applied on a lease transaction?
A: This incentive is only valid for purchase or finance of the 2018 Nissan LEAF.

Mods, please merge.

This seems like a nice addition to the rebates...

So IF you can get all of the State, Local, Federal and PG&E rebates it does add up to quite a nice price reduction.

I looked at the latest available in our area and it seems to add up to $15,500 in rebates...

Now if I could somehow get the 0% finance deal from Nissan and a big Nissan rebate I might jump at a new version...

I am sure I could sell our low mileage 2015 SV for a decent price...hmmm

In addition to this rebate for new Leafs, PG&E also offers a $500 rebate for owners of any electric vehicle that has not previously had a rebate claimed for it. On the pge.com website click on the Solar & Vehicles heading, then "Plug-in Electric Vehicles", then "Apply for the Clean Fuel Rebate". You will need your account number and VIN number. We got our check in less than a week after submitting the application. Pretty nice "found money". I was just looking for solar information at the time when I cam across this.

I cannot remember exactly where I read about a $3,000 manufacturer discount ... I think here on MNL from a NYS resident.
So at least for some states (CARB ??), Nissan is either offering $3,000 through a "partner" or directly

I'm curious if this is going to make sense.

$3000 from PG&E
$2500 from California
$7500 in tax rebate

Total = $13,000

I don't need the financing but so saving $3000 would be nice. The PG&E rebate says it applies only on MSRP. So maybe that's the catch. Is there any reason I should avoid this?

Choose nissan has the $2k loyalty discount. I wonder if I can can get my cousin to buy the car for me since he has owned a leaf since 2015.
