Yeah... I wonder what sort of validation this site does for new members?

If they did the email validation and also asked some basic questions related to EVs/PHEVs, electricity or EV charging, that'd probably help weed out a lot of this garbage.

It's a constant process!

This forum uses:
1. a human needed captcha unique to this site so it cannot be auto-filled by a bot
2. checks all IP and email addresses against the stopforumspam.com database before allowing registration
3. requires a link clicked in an email confirming a legitimate email address

At that point, a user is free to post.

If a user spams, we ban their IP and delete all their posts, and submit their IP to the stopforumspam database.
We also look for patterns, such as email addresses from specific domains, or even TLDs like .gq and we ban those too.

I've been a Moderator, Listserve Admin, etc in the past. Give me the power to delete topics and I'll use it only for Spam. I'm also up all night. I'm not looking to be a full time Mod, though - just a spam killer.
