Why so many spam topics?

OK, I can't live with that ad. I don't think whoever allowed it realized that it would make the page jump every time it loads (which is every single page load), at least for DSL users. If it stays up I'm going on vacation until it's gone.

I'm getting that same frickin' Amazon ad! and like you said, it jumps my page I was just about to restart my computer to see if it went away, sounds like it's part of MNL

After trying Adblock Plus a couple of times, and having it last only a few seconds before the ad returned, I found that the ad sort of gets blocked with the next restart of the browser (Firefox). But it still jumps a little, making the experience here less than pleasant. They need to shrink the size of the box at the very least.

I currently use Chrome with ADP, I used to use FF but was told by my kids and basically everyone else, FF is so yesterday and truthfully I was getting tired of FF changing it's look with each update, Chrome seems to keep looking the same, which is just fine with me.

If you can get Chrome to completely defeat this crap, let me know. If I can't find a browser that works well here, I'll cut way back on the time I spend - and the spammers will win again. And seriously: that ad just tells people that shipping is "Free!" * and takes them to the site if they click. It's pretty moronic.

I'm using Chrome with the UBlock extension and I can use the medicine dropper tool and pick the Amazon ad, and it effectively removes it....

The ad is invisible to me now, but the page 'flashes' when loading, instead of jumping. I'll play with it some more later.

Can I have a link? Before we move it there, though, I'd like to propose a topic in which we just vote on which topics the people here would like to see made sticky. That shouldn't be difficult, and I assume the process can be reversed...?
